“…in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words; with hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come; let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter.”- Barrack Obama

The story of Obama’s rise to the presidency has been well documented and came to fruition yesterday. Regardless of your political stance, yesterday was historical on many levels.
The above quote was from Obama’s inaugural speech and should strike a chord for everyone in their own personal development. Your ultimate success will be dependent on many factors. But one of the primary factors is the CHOICE you make. Who do you want to be? Who do you want to become? What do you want your legacy to be? These are all choices that you must make.
Once you have decided to your choice, true success remains in facing your fears, obstacles, adversity, or as Obama says above, “that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter”.
The path towards your destiny is individual in the realm that only you can experience the full ride for yourself. As there will be people and situations helping you on different parts of the journey, so to will there be people and situations trying to hold you back. When you make a choice, there are only two options afterwards… follow through or falter.
Yes, it is true we can consciously create our own reality through making a choice in our minds of what we want. But when we get the 1st, 2nd, 3rd,etc. round of adversity and obstacles are you willing to step up to consistently stand up to it and move through it?
